The Progressive Metal band Art of Simplicity from Athens, Greece self-released their 3rd studio album named "When Fables Have a Bitter Taste" on January 2017.

In an effort to play good and interesting music, balancing “simplicity” and “art”, Matthew Dakoutros and Nick Miras formed Art of Simplicity during 2003. Merging different kinds of music on a metal canvas, AoS have received much appreciation around the world and have established themselves as a very promising act.

Art of Simplicity has been influenced by a vast variety of innovative music genres and groups, creating a diverse and intense atmosphere through social and psychological themed lyrics. All of the above have been delivered by musicians established by the greek rock and metal scene. AoS demo CD "asymmetric" was released in 2005 and was awarded the title "Demo of the Month" in various magazines and webzines. That led to a contract with Burning Star Records and their debut record "Caught in this Iless Storm" (released in 2007). The album was met with positive reviews and live performances were organized to support it.

Amidst the financial crisis Matthew and Nick managed to form a new line up consisting of Chris Kounelis on vocals, Dim Koskinas on guitars and George Pagidas on bass and the band started working on new material at Uprising Studios. During that time the fans expressed growing expectations on their next record. "When Fables Have a Bitter Taste" was finally released on October 23 through BandCamp and was met with enthusiasm, a physical release is scheduled for December 9th, 2016. In the meantime Art of Simplicity are working on their first music video for the song "Once" and planning live performances for the current season.

"When Fables Have a Bitter Taste" is a concept mini album about childhood trauma and unreached expectations, that dives into more atmospheric territories than previous efforts. It consists of 6 tracks and runs for about 35 minutes. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Uprising Studios by Yiannis Fasoulakis.
